Right now I am 2/3rds of the way through the game on Veteran/Hard mode, Level 15, and I cannot imagine this game is do-able alone. Unless you play the game on the easiest difficulty, there isn't any way for that experience to be a reasonable challenge. Originally posted by Brian (The Schmaltzy Cynic):Yeah, I am going to say no. You once again have made a subjective opinion into a statement of fact. "If a combat is playable solo, it means a boredom with party because too easy." Well, once again, I completely disagree with everything you said. Originally posted by Dorok:Combat is combat, party is more complexity, solo is less pawns to manage, less skills to choose among, less positioning, no synergy to do between different characters, more. Your tastes have nothing to do with that. Your own tastes have nothing to do with that, and you can argue as much that you want around your enjoyment of solo combats it will change nothing to this dumbing down.ĮDIT: Play XCOM, Storm Guard Darkness is Coming, Super Dungeon Tactics, Fell Arbiter's Mark, many more game with really good party combats, none will be playable solo, non sense, only RPG suffer of this problem not tactical game their designers specialized in combats design know you can't make good party combats compatible with solo.Īnd no tactical designer bother do solo tactical combats because they know well it can be only much less deep, much less diversified, much less interesting. So yeah enjoy what you want, my problem is with designers making party RPG compatible with solo and generating dumbing down party combats. That's what did PoE2 with the very bad effect of generating unwanted isolation just by caution, and nope rush stupidly in combats isn't a solution. I already mentioned some tricks like isolation and simplifying combats through it. I have a problem with dev making party RPG dumbing down party combats to make them compatible with solo. If a combat is playable solo, it means a boredom with party because too easy.Įnjoy what you enjoy, I don't have any problem with that, players do what they want. Combat is combat, party is more complexity, solo is less pawns to manage, less skills to choose among, less positioning, no synergy to do between different characters, more.
